Sarah lives in an RV with her boyfriend Travis. A month ago their previous RV burned to the ground due to an electrical short. Sarah was sleeping alone, she was lucky to get out alive.

Their current RV is not habitable, the roof leaks horribly. It also has no kitchen which means being parked in a food desert their diet consists of whatever is available at the Shell gas station.

I couldn't imagine eating that way. I asked Sarah how she keeps her hopes alive. Without hesitation she said, "I try to not have hope, it only leads to disappointment. I live from moment to moment. If you look ahead, hoping for something, you miss what is happening now. Too often we are worried about tomorrow and we don't see today. If you spend all your time planning, hoping, you never actually do anything."

Her words really stopped me, as they often do with folks living homeless. I asked her if she was happy and she said, "Generally, yes, but rather I would say I am content. For me home is about the people in my life, not the building I might be in."

Sarah and Travis are parked with a number of other RV's. They are schedule to be swept by the City of Seattle next week sometime. We are hoping to raise $200 to purchase Shell gas-cards for them so they can successfully move to a new spot.

Please consider donating to our Venmo account @YouKnowMeNow or our PayPal account @CircleOfTen. All funds will go to purchasing Shell gas-cards for Sarah & Travis. No funds will go to You Know Me Now.

It was such a pleasure meeting you Sarah and Travis. You both are wonderfully beautiful people. LOVE.
