goingHOME

Grayson is eager to get back home to the east coast, to be around family and friends. He wants to play music with his band and just get on with life.
Several years ago his path brought him to Seattle and he instantly became homeless. It's a long sad story of tough times for him but things are beginning to take a turn for the better.
In October of last year a tremendously nice lady named Cindy gifted Grayson a van. It came at a very good time for him, he was down as low as he'd ever been. The van was not only a gift of transportation, but also a safe place for him and his dog to sleep, sheltered from the winter rain.
Last December, to help keep the van from being impounded, the YKMN community raised over $800 to get the license, tabs and other miscellaneous needs paid for.
The other good news is that the van is in pretty good shape. The previous owner had done a great deal of work on it. In 2022 she replaced the water pump, radiator, thermostat, head gasket, spark plugs, oil pressure switch, rebuilt the differential, wheel bearings and seals, coil, and crank shaft. Oh, and had the oil changed!
As Grayson plans out his journey home he's worried about the van breaking down out in the middle of nowhere. He doesn't want to be stuck in some small town with no funds for repairing the problem. I don't blame him.
Lloyd's Auto Clinic, the folks who did the previous work, said they would do an inspection, doing their best to confirm it is road-ready. With tax the amount would come to $184 and change.
We are asking the community to help cover this cost. If you are interested in helping out please donate to the YKMN Venmo account @YouKnowMeNow.
All funds will go to Grayson's van. If there are additional funds we will purchase gas-cards for him. As is always the case, no funds go to You Know Me Now.
Proud of you Grayson for getting to this point. We LOVE you.
