Every week the award-winning-restaurant Terra Plata cooks up (50) bowls of delicious soup for those living homeless through their program FOOD is LOVE!

Bruce Drager and Blair Jordan volunteer alternate weeks handing the soup out to those in need. Bruce usually heads north to Ballard and Blair south to Georgetown, along with any other volunteers that show up.

In Seattle it is easy to get overwhelmed by the conversation on homelessness, one that is dominated by negative news. We hear over and over the number of folks living without shelter is rising and that the latest program providing services has failed.

This post is a reminder that there are a great number of beautiful positive efforts happening all around the city. Everyday people are stepping forward to lesson the suffering. What else could be more important, what else could be more beautiful??

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Tamara Murphy and Linda DiLelo Morton, founders of the restaurant Terra Plata, for your FOOD is LOVE program. Thank you Blair Jordan, Bruce Drager, Damian Monda, Egan Orion, and others who have helped make it happen!

This is a photo of Blair, on the right, handing out soup and visiting with the veryVERY wonderful Danielle in her trailer. Before leaving Danielle thanked us by forcing some ice cream popsicles on us, ones that she had just bought to share with her neighbors!

LOVE.
