Stephan and Chanel

Please meet Stephan and Chanel, and Chanel's dog Wile E.

Both Stephan and Chanel have lived homeless for years. Stephan most recently in a Tiny Home Village and Chanel in her bus. Both are struggling emotionally. Stephan's niece, Molly, also homeless, took her own life December 22nd. Molly was Chanel's best friend.

Molly was loved by many. Chanel, Stephan, and their community are trying to raise funds for Molly's body to be cremated. It would mean a great deal to them and others to give her this dignity and begin their own process of healing.

The cost is nearly $1,000.00. There are also additional expenses, including the need for a wake. Right now they are trying to raise funds from their circle of friends and loved ones, hoping the larger YKMN community can help push them closer to making it a reality.

One year ago Stephan's home, in a Tiny Home Village, burned to the ground. He was in a coma for 3 months with burns covering 70% of his body. His path to healing has been a painful journey, one that he is still suffering from.

The day he received housing was December 22nd, the same day Molly took her own life. Stephan is torn up with guilt, he so wanted to have her come over, have rest from the streets, to be there for her. Now that is not possible.

Death is always hard for family and friends. For those in the homeless community it is particularly difficult knowing that too often loved ones remain unclaimed, passing with little notice.
